Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges against two indivi- duals following separate incidents in Russell Township. The first incident occurred on Sunday, May 10, at approximately 10:20 p.m., when officers responded to a fail-to-remain col- lision at a residence in Russell Township. According to police, a complainant repor- ted that a parked vehicle in his driveway had been struck by another vehicle, which fled the scene immediately afterward. Offi- cers observed damage to the rear bumper of the parked vehicle, along with debris left behind at the scene. A short time later, police located a suspect vehicle matching the description provided by the complainant. Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed damage consistent with the reported collision. Following the investigation, a 26-year-old from Embrun was charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concen- tration over 80 milligrams and failing to stop after an accident.
