Innovative Technology that is comfortable, safe, and surpasses patient expectations. The Invention Of Laser The development of the laser did not happen over- night - it took years in the making. Interesting enough, even though Albert Einstein didn’t create the laser, he paved the path for its eventual development through his research demonstrated in his published paper: The Quantum Theory of Radiation in 1917. It would be over 40 years later that Theodore H. Maiman brought the concept to fruition by creating and firing the first Laser in 1960. Is My Flashlight A Type Of Laser? No, a laser is not to be confused with a flashlight, the headlights on a car, or the overhead lights in the living room. A flashlight emits a polychromatic light (a white light), meaning that it is comprised of a mixture of colors and wavelengths, whereas the light that is released from a laser is monochromatic - emitting a single wavelength of light (a specific color). In com- parison, the light that is released by a laser is coherent, meaning that the photons are all travelling parallel to each other, whereas the light from a flashlight is inco- herent; the photons travel in many diŒerent directions and not in unison. A laser is also collimated, meaning that it has a very focused, narrow path, producing a much tighter beam of light than a flashlight.

Why Is Laser So Popular In Medical Aesthetics?

Like the evolution of the human species, the laser has gone through some remarkable transformations, and due to their versatility, lasers continue to dominate quite a large share of the medical aesthetic industry. More physicians are opting to oŒer laser treatments due to patient awareness and demand. Patients are seeking out treatments performed with laser and other light-based devices as they are often accompanied with less risk, fewer side eŒects, and minimal to no downtime, compared to their invasive surgical counterparts. In addi- tion, patients have found medical aesthetic technology to have high satisfaction ratings, aŒordable prices, and it has been approved by governing regulatory bodies which provides a greater level of confi- dence for any patient deciding to have a treatment done. Whether it’s skin tightening, the CC Peel, or body contouring, SharpLight’s treatments oŒer many benefits to patients apart from the results; they are fast, comfortable and come with little to no downtime. For treatments, such as tattoo removal (that are described as minimal- ly to moderately uncomfortable), your practitioner may discuss options with you to such as applying a topical anesthetic on the treatment area to reduce any possible discomfort. Now that you’ve completed your 3 minute laser ‘crash course,’ we hope that you have a better under- standing of what the technology is, how it works, and that you’re more confident when making decisions about what type of treatment to have done. Did you know that the word ‘laser’ is an acronym? It stands for Light Amplification Stimulated By Emission Of Radiation. Generally unappreciated, the laser is one of science’s greatest technological achievements.

Are The Treatments Safe?

Yes. Our devices have sub-zero contact cooling and proprietary and patented DPC control. That means when having unwanted hair, facial capillaries, sun spots and age spots removed, treatments come with increased comfort, safety and e‡cacy.

Though pain is subjective to every individual, our technology is one of the most comfortable options on the market. Are The Treatments Painful?
