Local environ m entalist Cind y Saucier op- poses the use of the herbicide Garlon, sa y - ing vegetation such as berr y bushes which would not grow tall enough to interfere with lines should not be killed. A H y dro One forester stated the Garlon application is to prevent the regrowth of the cut trees. One resident of Forced Road said the y were given the option of co m plete re m oval or topping, and the y chose re m oval. In their y ard the spruce trees the power lines run through started on fire last y ear. These pines along Forced Road in Rus- sell, along with hundreds of other trees in Russell Township, were earmarked for removal by Hydro One Forestry.
