combines both themes. Bogus emails are going out to people claiming to be from someone fromTax Rev- enue and telling the recipients they are eli- gible for tax refunds. The catch is that the person has to first fill out and send back a tax refund request at- tachment to the email. The form asks for the
person’s social insurance number and credit card numbers and other information. The OPP are investigating one complaint from the Bancroft area where a person made the mistake of filling out and sending back the attachment. The federal government does not send out emails asking for personal I.D. informa-
tion and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) already has the names and social insurance numbers of Canadians who have paid in- come tax and also received tax refunds stored in its secured databanks. Also all tax refunds have already been paid out by this time of year. Anyone who receives this email or a regular letter through the post of this type should first phone the CRA to confirm that the message is real. The CRA has a toll-free number at 1-800-959-8281 for this purpose. Internet inquiries can be researched at www.cra-arc.gc.ca.

Les élèves de l’École élémentaire catholique d’Embrun ont donné un spectacle de chants de qualité, dimanche dernier, à l’église St-Jacques d’Embrun. La chorale était composée de 70 élèves, de la 2e année à la 8e année, accompagnés de 30 adultes de la chorale paroissiale. Le thème, cette année, était ‘Ensemble pour chanter’. C’est devant une salle comble qu’ils ont entonné des
chansons de feux de camp pour ensuite chanter des chansons de Noël. Ils étaient accompagnés à la musique par Alain Brisson, Nicholas Doyon et Hélène Bru- net.
