alexis, a native of spencer, met Jesse, originally from Kenna, while both were serving in the West Virginia Air National Guard. Jesse left for a year to attend flight engineering school, and the pair remained in contact while he was away. When he returned, they began dating officially and quickly became inseparable. Alexis’s family scheduled family pictures in 2019 to be taken at the end of Long Point Trail overlooking the New River Gorge Bridge. The couple brought up the rear of the group and, when they arrived, Alexis noticed pictures of the couple throughout their relationship positioned around the trail’s end—where Jesse got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes, and the couple is currently planning their fall 2020 wedding from their home in Charleston, where both continue their work for the West Virginia Air National Guard. jessica and t.j. started out as teacher friends when she began teaching at the same high school as he did. He welcomed her to eat lunch one day with a group of colleagues and helped build a set for her class’s musical theatre production. Soon the pair’s friendship blossomed into something more. Jessica and T.J. took in a Wheeling Nailers hockey game before returning home to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2018 with their shih tzu puppies. While watching the ball drop on television, T.J. offered a toast that was a little bit different and something special—“New year, new we?” He presented Jessica with a ring, and she said yes to his marriage proposal.
