AVOID AN EXPENSIVE HEADACHE INSPECT SEWER LINES

Very few property owners ever think about their sewer lines or septic systems. After all, why would you? When waste goes down the drain, it disappears out of your life forever, lost in a labyrinth of pipes. When you’re looking for a new home or property to purchase, the sewer is probably the last thing on your mind. But let us be the one to tell you, whether you’re a buyer or a seller, haywire sewer lines can cause you a lot more headaches than you realize. Even relatively new buildings that look great at first glance may have issues lurking beneath the surface. Tree roots can easily worm their way into sewer lines, acting as unwanted “filters” for all kinds of nasty debris, like eggshells and other less-appealing materials. In the worst circumstances, tree roots can mangle those all-important pipes, causing a ridiculous mess that may eventually cost you thousands of dollars. What’s more, some older homes relied on outdated technology when they were first built and their infrastructure is steadily deteriorating toward disaster. It’s not uncommon for sewer line repairs to cost $5,000, $10,000, or even $25,000 to fully implement!

That’s why we recommend that prospective buyers always scope their sewers before putting any money down. A thorough, relatively inexpensive check to ensure everything’s up to snuff can save you piles of money in the long-run.

At Liberty Inspection Group, we offer comprehensive sewer-inspection services done by our skilled professionals. That way, we can

do more than ensure that you’re not buying a lemon; we can determine if the sewage lines will stay safe and solid for the long term. Before you sign away thousands of dollars for a soon-to-be health hazard, give us a call at 610.717.3082 , and give yourself some peace of mind.
