The texts are valued at approximately $65,000 (JMD) DMLL receives Spanish texts books and online teaching materials: In December of 2023, the DMLL received Spanish textbooks and online teaching materials val- ued at 250 Euros from MAEC-AECID, Spain through the initiative of the Spanish TA-Lector de español – Miss Yasmin Sedghi OTHER ACTIVITIES French Student Club signed a sponsorship agreement with the AUF and thus joined the AUF network of Francophone Student Leaders Clubs (CLEF) on August 3, 2022. The president of the club, Miss Daneen Jowhill, participated in the first Congrès de la Jeunesse Estudiantine Francophone during the second edition of the World Scientific Francophonie Week which took place from October 25 to 28, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt. The official launch of the club as a member of the CLEF network took place on February 2, 2023. Café RaccourSci. Miss Soyini Ashby (MLL instructor) and Mr Antwain Williams a M.A. student in French attended the Café RaccourSci on scientific communication organized by the AUF in October, November and December 2022. Training the trainers. Ms. Soyini Ashby participated in “Training the trainers” programme organized by the AUF in association with Afric’Association. Diplomacy Forum organized by CNF-CEF. On February 21, 2023, during a forum on careers in diplomacy, His Excellency Mr. Olivier Guyonvarch, Ambassador of France to Jamaica, and Mr. Kavoy Ashley, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the United Nations in New York shared their vast knowledge and practical experiences on the ground. Subscription to CAIRN.info. In February 2023, the CNF-CEF reached an agree- ment with the CAIRN.info academic database for a full subscription at a reduced rate. This will provide students and researchers from the four UWI campuses with access to more than 17,000 journals, digital books, encyclopaedias and magazines in French, English and Spanish. Renovation and development of the CNF- CEF space. The equipment donated by the AUF, CNF, CEF arrived in 2021 – 15 computers, 15 monitors, 15 webcams, 15 headsets, 7 virtual reality headsets, 1 Android interactive screen, 1 videocon- ferencing camera, 1 microphone for videoconferencing – and it was installed in the Ashcroft Computer lab in the Faculty of Humanities and Education (FHE). The cost of the reconfiguration of the room to place the equipment amounted to 1,190.37 euros, an amount which was reimbursed to the FHE.
