MarketMobile in Vars CANDICE VETTER candice.vetter@eap.on.ca
LES PLAISIRS DE L’ÉTÉ 9LYHOH95 in three inner-city neighborhoods. The bus will stop in Vars every second Saturday from 10 :30 a.m. to 12 :30 p.m. The schedule and information are available at www.vars.ca. The MarketMobile has been very success- ful during the last two years in Ottawa as a way to bring fresh food to communities without a nearby grocery store. Vars was chosen as a rural area partly be- cause 10 per cent of its residents are in care homes and without independent trans- portation. Local vendors selling non-com- peting products are also invited to set up in the parking area of Alcide Trudeau Park. Fruits, vegetables and garage sale items are excluded. Vendors’ cost will be $10 per week with funds going towards the St-Guillaume par- ishes’ 100 th anniversary. Those interesting in participating can contact Lynne Jenkerson at lynnemelepicure@hotmail.com.
VARS | The MarketMobile, an enhance- ment to the successful Good Food Market (GFM) pilot project running in Ottawa, is coming to Alcide Trudeau Park in Vars be- ginning August 9. The MarketMobile is an OC Transpo bus transformed into a grocery store on wheels.
