Marilyn Rebant ABOUT: Marilyn first learned the love of art in high school. She received an AFA in college. As her kids grew older, she took classes at the Midland Center of the Arts and Saginaw Valley State University. Marilyn enjoyed all medium classes in Traverse City and watercolor classes at the Watercolor Art Society - Houston. In the last few years, Marilyn had exhibited at the Minervini Group Shows, TC Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, many paint outs, and at the Traverse City library for the “Art of Recovery.” She hopes to be able to exhibit at a sale at the Bewitched Farm again this year when the virus is finally gone. En plein air painting is one of Marilyn’s favorite ways of expressing her art. She loves the challenge of new subjects. The painting group that meets weekly, Magic Thursday Artists, is important to her and inspires her to extend her endeavors. With other friends, Marilyn is now virtually exhibiting at the TC Opera House through January 31. THIS YEAR: Marilyn, this year, learned many new ideas to try new ways of painting and expressing art. She watched numerous great painters through Eric Rhoads FB virtual interviews and their painting styles. CTAC also was very motivating with their Virtual Coffee @ Ten lectures that highlight different ideas and subjects. CONTACT: brocoli3@yahoo.com. Studio at home on Island Lake.

“Feeling Blue,” Oil, 2020, 12.5 x 10.5 in, $125. Depending on the weather or the mood of the day, different ideas entice Marilyn. Showing her feelings by painting something different each time - nature, animals, flowers, and edibles are her favorites.
