Our award-winning Enterprise department offers a number of innovative programmes, initiatives and projects for students. These often involve employers and industry experts, who participate in events such as masterclasses and coaching and mentoring sessions. They also encourage you to think about the skills you have and how you can develop them or gain new skills. Barnsley College Enterprising Futures (BCEF) Opportunities Fund The BCEF fund provides grants for exceptional work experience and opportunities. Previous students have used the fund to access work experience at Camp America and animal sanctuaries overseas, and to shadow doctors in UK hospitals. iTrust iTrust is a joint venture with Barnsley Chronicle and The Business Village which supports students interested in starting up a business in Barnsley. Students who receive support from iTrust have access to an array of information and guidance including mentoring from the College’s Enterprise team, industry specialists and employers. The scheme can also provide students with a start-up grant of up to £250 to launch a new business. For more information or to apply for support with a new business start-up, contact us on: enterprise@barnsley.ac.uk
