Susquehanna Chorale Spring Concert: Singing the Dance of Life When: Saturday, May 11, 8–10 p.m. Where: Parmer Hall at Messiah College Admission: $20 in advance; $25 at the door; $5 for students and youth ages 18 and under From Gregorian chant to the stately rhythms of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, from the music of today’s finest composers to classics from the American Songbook, this year’s spring concert explores a variety of repertoire that celebrates the dance of life. Join us for a concert of timeless music that will stir your heart, make you smile, and maybe even inspire you to get up and dance! 2019 Army Heritage Days When: Saturday and Sunday, May 18–19, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Where: U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center Admission: FREE! Each year, the USAHEC puts on a timeline living history event featuring several hundred re-enactors from all eras spread out over the mile-long Army Heritage Trail. Decked out in period uniforms and weapons, these living historians will have their historical equipment and weapons on display and will be available to talk to the public and answer any of your Mechanicsburg Events

Brewser 4: Adventure Race When: Sunday, May 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Where: Appalachian Brewing Company Admission: $10–$60; prices depend on chosen race

Be sure to register early for the fourth annual Brewser race, which is sponsored by Appalachian Brewing Company, Pennsy Supply, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is the only global diabetes foundation with a strategic plan to end Type 1 diabetes. Your tax-deductible donation will help JDRF bring life- changing therapies from the lab to the community. The Brewser Adventure Race offers a unique physical challenge of a 5K or 5-mile race and showers for cleanup. There is an ABC Original Root Beer Run, which is three-fourths of a mile with an obstacle course for the younger kids; an ABC Original Birch Beer Run, which is 1.5 miles with obstacle course for older kids; and several other races organized for adult runners of all types. The runs are followed by a victory celebration at the pub, featuring a pasta buffet, water, great craft beer, and soda!
