Essential Degree in an engineering or construction discipline or similar qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role. Project management qualification or track record including project planning and implementation, financial control, the assessment of contract strategies, contract supervision, safety and associated environmental management. A good working knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations, with demonstrable experience of site safety management. Substantial experience working in a project management role in the construction sector. Proven experience of: • Managing major building and estate projects from inception to completion. • Managing internal and external stakeholders at different levels. • Working in a collaborative and diplomatic manner with a broad range of stakeholder groups. • Design and specification across a broad spectrum of building types. • Managing large budgets effectively. • Working with procurement and tendering procedures. • Management of teams of construction professionals and contractors. • Thorough knowledge of planning and building regulations. • Knowledge and understanding of Construction Design Management Regulations. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • High level initiative and decision making skills. • Team worker with the ability to cope with competing demands. • Strong customer focus. • Strong numeracy and IT skills. • Understanding of drawing software, including AutoCAD and Revit. • Utilisation of business and project management software. Member of a recognised relevant professional body eg APM/ RICS/ ICE/ CIOB Desirable • Managing safely IOSH certificate. • Energy conservation and lifecycle cost assessments. • Commissioning electrical or mechanical engineering systems. • Specialist skills of managerial, financial, operational and strategic management. • Commercial acumen and vision. • High level problem solving skills.
