SERVICES DE SANTÉ COMMUNAUTAIRE Les Services médicaux de la communauté de Kingston abritent le Centre des sciences de la santé du sud-est de l’Ontario, qui offre des soins de courte et de longue durée. Le temps d’attente à ces hôpitaux varie en fonction de la gravité de la blessure ou de la maladie. Du personnel infirmier responsable du triage évalue l’urgence de la condition de chaque personne à son arrivée et s’assure que les cas plus urgents sont gérés en premier. Veuillez noter qu’un service téléphonique de traduction est disponible dans les hôpitaux. Ce service est disponible en tout temps, dans plus de 200 langues. La est située à l’Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu. On y accueille les patients de la naissance à 18 ans. Les personnes qui souffrent d’une maladie ou d’une blessure non urgente qui ne peuvent pas attendre d’être vues par un médecin de famille peuvent également se présenter à l’une des cinq cliniques sans rendez-vous/de soins d’urgence mises en place à Kingston. Des soins médicaux virtuels sont aussi disponibles.
The City of Kingston offers a wide range of community health services that are suitable for medical needs ranging from non-life threatening to long- term care. There are also facilities available should emergency services be needed. Kingston General Hospital, an acute-care teaching hospital that is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Queen’s University, offers a 24-hour emergency care department. An Urgent Care Centre that focuses on non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, can be found at Hotel Dieu Hospital and operates daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Most services are covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Wait times can vary at these hospitals depending on the severity of the injury or illness. Both departments have triage nurses on staff who assess the urgency of each patient’s condition upon arrival. Please note that a telephone translation service is available in hospitals. This service is available in 200 languages at any time of the day or night.
