Mariona Puntes Carbonell - “Gender Roles in Bisexual and Homosexual Women: When Gender Identity Interferes with Sexual Orientation” (session 3) Gender roles mark our personality since we are little girls: what clothes we wear, how we should have our hair, the toys we ask for at Christmas or how we relate to our peers. However, there is a forgotten group in this event: girls and adolescents who do not fit the heterosexual pattern. This study aims to analyze how the fact of not fitting into gender roles and not belonging to the heterosexual world causes doubts about the identity of these girls and adolescents, and how it affects their development during the first years of life. Isabela Regalado (session 11) - see Beeler Jericka Renner - “Recognizing Theatrical Makeup” (poster session) During my poster presentation I will be explaining what theatrical makeup is and how it can leave a positive effect on individuals. I will show pictures of how creative theatrical makeup can be, and how so many emotions can be expressed through a makeup look. There isn’t a specific problem that contributes to theatrical makeup, it's as simple as accepting it or not. Those who don’t accept it usually don’t connect to the picture behind the makeup look. The main reason I want to showcase my work is because I want to spread positivity and motivation to those who want to get into art, like makeup. I’ve researched through social media and how I can get inspired by others who do theatrical makeup. I realized that theatrical makeup is spread all over the world. Movies and television shows use theatrical makeup to create their characters. I will also add that I took a Stage/Tv makeup class here at MVC with Harold Hynick and how that impacted me in an encouraging way.
