SK Arts receives funding from Sask Lotteries to offer programs that support the arts at the community level. C FUNDING PROGRAMS DELIVERED BY SK ARTS
GALLERY GRANT PROGRAM
Resources from Sask Lotteries funding are pooled with funding in SK Arts’ Professional Arts Organizations Program (PAOP) to provide 15 galleries with annual funding to support both their professional arts programs and services as well as governance, management, administrative and operational functions. Community-based galleries were supported in Assiniboia, Estevan, Humboldt, Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Regina, Regina Beach, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Weyburn and Yorkton.
ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS
Artists in Schools programming provides schools opportunities to offer enhanced arts-related activities that are linked to defined curricular outcomes through partnerships with professional artists and arts organizations. The aim of this funding is to expand access to meaningful artistic activities, increase student engagement in learning, cultivate cross-disciplinary learning skills and attitudes and foster a life-long interest in the arts. In 2025/26, 21 partnerships were supported in the communities of Balcarres, Casa Rio, Estevan, Meadow Lake, Muskoday First Nation, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Snowden, Sturgeon Lake, Turtleford, and Wynyard. Funding also supports the LIVE (Live Interactive Video Education) program that engages teachers and students in all corners of Saskatchewan in an interactive distance learning experience where professional artists broadcast grade-specific programs in dance, drama, music and the visual arts through the Ministry of Education’s LIVE satellite Network; and the Ask Artists video series providing opportunities to build artistic skills in various disciplines, as well as address a variety of social topics such as racism, personal identity, embracing failure, and breaking stereotypes. In the first half of the 2025/26 school year, LIVE Arts reached over 1,146 classrooms. This program connected artists with 26,358 students in 223 communities , and two programs were offered in French reaching 5,842 students. FESTIVALS GRANT PROGRAM (SASKFESTIVALS)
The SaskFestivals program provides funding support to professional festivals organizations and presentation series across the province. The funding supports both artistic and administrative costs of a festival organization’s annual operations, as well as supporting artistic programs and/ or events that connect and engage professional artists and the community in a festival setting. In 2025/26, a total of 45 festival organizations were provided support under the SaskFestivals program. In addition to Regina and Saskatoon, organizations were supported in Bengough, Big River, Forget, La Ronge, Langham, Loon Lake, Manitou Beach, Moose Jaw, Oxbow, Prince Albert, Saint-Laurent, Swift Current, Waskesiu Lake, and Yorkton.
