fact that many times the very peo ple who accuse the church of be ing so full of bickering and prob lems are the ones who caused those problems in the first place. Frequently the whole ministry of the church is obstructed because two Christian people cannot get along with each other. I say, shame on both of them. The Creek word translated "lusts" means passions or pleas ures. It is used only three other places in the New Testament and each time it has an evil sense. These are the pleasures that would set up a throne in our members to take the supremacy. These fleshly desires were inherited from our

father Adam. He carried us into sin in the Garden of Eden. Such overwhelming passions originate from within. Environment is not ultimate cause of city riots or even church feuds. All these difficulties spring out of what people are by nature in their hearts. Paul exhorts us for this reason to yield every part of our lives to Cod as instru ments of righteousness (Rom. 6:12, 13 and 19). How timely that James deals with the frantic frustrations of an inner sinful appetite in the life of the Christian. Such can never be satisfied in spite of all the extremes to which people go in seeking to fulfill their passion for pleasure.
