Le 13 juin dernier, le Club Optimiste d’Embrun tenait son 35 e festin de homards. Plus de 500 convives ont pu déguster à volonté ce crustacé, transporté le jour même de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Il y avait aussi au menu une montée de fruits, un bar à salade et des tartelettes. Les membres présents ont pu profiter d’une soirée dansante au rythme de la musique d’un DJ local. Au cours de la soirée, les Optimistes ont aussi vendu des billets 50/50. Le premier gagnant a reçu un peu plus de 1000 $, alors que l’autre moitié des profits a été remise à l’organisme Kawabunga/Connecting Pieces. Depuis plus de 30 ans, le Club Optimiste organise des activités et des projets pour les jeunes de la communauté d’Embrun.
