Young activist Abigail Graves wants to help Graves gets her inspiration for helping people from her parents, Grace and Peter Graves, who are part of Youth Ignited, a Russell-based community action program which is also a registered Canadian char- ity. The focus of Youth Ignited Ministries International (YIMI), as stated on its web- site, is to “help our youth reach their goals and fulfill their highest potential” through programs and projects which help young people develop their leadership skills and also their community involvement. The group sponsors aid projects and camps which also provide their members, of all ages, with opportunities for hands-on com- munity work.

Abigail Graves knows what she wants to do now and in the future with her life. She wants to sing and dance, and she wants to help people. The 10-year-old student at Mother Teresa Elementary School in Russell is going to Jamaica with her family later in the season. When she goes there, Abigail Graves plans to take with her at least $200, if not more, to help with a project in that country to assist a local orphanage. “So I can help kids in school,” she said during a visit with her family to the Reflet- News office. “I know that not a lot of families (in Jamaica) can afford to send their kids to school.” As part of her aid plan, Abigail is working on hosting a bake sale at her school. She is enlisting the help of her family and some friends to assemble as large and tempting a collection of baked goods as possible to make sure she can meet her fundraising goal. She’s also giving some thought to other fundraising ideas, but first she is focusing on her bake sale.

“Our family has a tradition of trying to make an impact in the lives of others,” said Grace Graves. “And we want our children to learn what it’s like for other kids. We’re helping to transform lives.” The Graves family and other members of Youth Ignited in the Orléans area will be in Jamaica later in the year for work in the Montego Bay region. Along with the funds raised from various activities, the group will also bring some school supplies, toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes donated

Récemment, les joueurs de la ligue d’im- provisation du Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) ont pu tester une toute nouvelle catégo- rie d’improvisation lors de leurs derniers tournois : l’impro GoPro. Tout comme dans une improvisation sans limite traditionnelle, les joueurs d’une impro GoPro peuvent se promener où ils veulent, à l’extérieur des bandes, faire usage de tous les objets et même briser le qua- trièmemur et interagir directement avec la foule. La nuance se retrouve dans la caméra d’action GoPro qui est remise aux joueurs au début de l’impro. Cette caméra diffuse en direct les images qu’elle capte sur un écran géant, et c’est sur ces images que le public doit voter. « Je tiens à féliciter les membres de notre personnel pour cette innovation », de dire François Turpin, directeur de l’éducation et secrétaire. « La nouvelle catégorie d’impro- visation GoPro du CSDCEO nous permet
