When was the last time you serviced your air dryer?

With high humidity and colder temperatures coming, you should really think about having your air dryer serviced.

All air dryers need maintenance, and the interval varies greatly depending on model, and usage. On average you should service your desiccant filter every year in most applications. However, the fact of the matter is, dryers are an after thought for most fleets. The lack of maintenance often leads to expensive truck down situations due to stuck purge valves and sticking check valves in the dryer. Even worse, moisture and desiccant beads can cause failures down stream. You see, the dryer protects the entire air system. So when it fails, you can damage all kinds of air system components, such as brake valves, suspension systems, transmissions, differentials, even after-treatment equipment. You should always read and follow the recommended maintenance intervals for your dryer. So, if you haven’t serviced your dryer lately, stop by your local dealer for maintenance, or visit their parts department for the necessary components soon.
