Hager were worthy winners in this category which recognises the innovation, background and performance of a product designed to meet the I.S.10101 wiring regulations. The judging panel commended a clear and descriptive introduction to Hager’s entry, which explained the product well and specified details on what exactly was involved in making this product compliant. Particular credit was given for including 2 x independent 6amp RCBO’s for lighting circuits. Hager’s primary focus was to release the safest design to the market. It was noted by the judging panel how “aesthetically pleasing” and “neatly packaged” the product is. In addition, judges were impressed by the level of testimonials included, with one describing the unit as “a cut above the rest!” Overall, they felt it was a high-quality product. The SBE9101SPD, Hager’s new regs compliant consumer unit successfully set the market standard. Entry information listed how the consumer unit is the main electrical protective device in a house or dwelling and that given the importance of this, Hager spent considerable time carrying out the necessary research, trials and readings to ensure the best possible solution was brought to market in order to be I.S.10101 compliant. As a family-run company with clearly defined values, Hager’s purpose is to shape the electrical world of tomorrow.

We had a fantastic level of entries for this category, but the Novaline Style from Thorn Lighting certainly shone the brightest for its contemporary looks and versatility. With over 90 years of expertise, Thorn is proud to be known as a trusted partner, providing customers with invaluable insight and support beyond the product. The wall and ceiling mounted decorative luminaire appealed to the judging panel due to its versatility of controls and that it’s available in a range of sizes and colours. One judge noted how the innovation of the control’s aspect is “very important from a specifying point of view”. Thorn Lighting recently updated its popular Novaline range to widen its scope of application. Building on the existing range, the new Novaline Style is a slim, circular luminaire, that provides homogeneous light through an opal diffuser and a subtle 10% backlight – best experienced when surface mounted. Thorn manufacturers and supplies dependable, efficient, high-quality lighting. Its extensive portfolio of indoor and outdoor lighting is developed to address the needs of wholesalers, contractors, specifiers and end users, for the widest range of applications.
