This ground-breaking innovation from Ecovolt Ltd ticked all the right boxes in deeming it a unanimous winner in this category. The Ecovolt CeP is a patent pending innovative 24V heating system exclusively invented, developed and manufactured by Ecovolt. The product was designed for low carbon high performance buildings such as a passive house or nZEB type building. Judges commented on how the product was a particularly great space saving item. One stated: “From an engineering perspective it is very innovative and competitive.” The product itself works on the principles of resistive heating combined with large heating surface areas to product radiant heat. Considered by many as “ingenious” for its concept, it is unrivalled in the market as there is nothing close to it. Ecovolt founder, Stephen Dempsey described it as a “world first paint on wall electric heating system.” He explained how the paint is a conductive coating made from carbon graphite which is screen printed onto gypsum plasterboard to turn it into an efficient radiant heater. All manufacturing of the product takes place in Ecovolt’s premises in Dublin. As testament to its innovation, Ecovolt Ltd have received several awards for its Carbon Paint Heating System including Northern Ireland’s Electrical Awards 2021 in the same category. The company also recently received “Innovator of the Year” at the 2022 small firms’ association awards at the RDS, Dublin.

ECI Lighting won this category for its remarkable work at the Ei Electronics HQ Campus in Shannon. The exquisitely designed foyer creates a spectacular sense of entrance and sets the tone for the superior quality of light throughout the building. Judges noted a good design and a prestigious project with a high-end finish. Testimonial supplied by John Moloney from Moloney Fox Consulting Engineers hailed ECI Lighting as a “top-class service and an absolute joy to work with. Best in class!” ECI would sincerely like to thank Midwest Lighting, Moloney Fox Consulting Engineers, Pure Electrical, Monami and O’Neill O’Malley Architects for their exceptional work on the project.
