This hotly contested category received many entries but there could only be one winner for Sales Representative of the Year 2022. Bernard Carroll has worked as a Technical Sales Executive for CORE Distribution for nearly eight years commencing his career as an apprentice electrician with DC Electrical in 2001. Bernard went on to work as a Business Development Manager for Bulmer’s Cider and with the sales experience he received while working there, and his previous electrical career, he looked to get back into the electrical sector. The panel of judges noted how Bernard has a “strong technical understanding” with over 15 and a half years’ experience sourcing and winning complex sales opportunities in the Industrial, Medical and Commercial sectors. In his submission form, Bernard explained how he was very fortunate to be involved in the first Nightingale Hospital in Citywest Dublin and offer them a perfect solution for their needs. From that he secured the majority of temporary work in hospitals throughout the country. In addition to this, Bernard managed to provide products to all the vaccine centres throughout Ireland. Bernard is proud to have been involved in the new product launch for CORE, partnering with Gripple in the UK to offer Fast Trak which has been a huge success for the company.

Described as having made great contributions to the electrical industry over many years, Jack Hegarty has won the Unsung Hero Award at Ireland’s Electrical Awards 2022. Jack has been an amazing ambassador for the Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA) and has been instrumental in its charity work, raising funds for the charity over many years. With a career spanning almost 50 years in the electrical sector, Jack went out on his own in the early 1970’s, working from his garage with the help of his wife. He successfully carved a career as Jack Hegarty Electrical Contractors Ltd and retired in 2015. Taking great pride in his staff and customers, no job was too big or small. Behind the scenes, his passion for supporting others continued through his charity work and associations. Jack held the title of President of the Association of Electrical Contractors Ireland (AECI) for five years and was made Director of the Cork branch of the IEBA. Jack Hegarty most certainly set the benchmark when it comes to an Unsung Hero – a fantastic achievement indeed.
