JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Purpose of Job The commercial manager is responsible for the effective management of Bluecoat Sports (BCS) and the Management of all commercial activities at the school. In addition to provide guidance on Health and Safety (as a H & S Adviser) and to oversee the School’s utilities accounts. Key Areas of Responsibility Management • Member of the Master Plan Steering Group for the development and expansion of BCS to meet current and expected future demand for sport and leisure facilities in the Horsham area; to deliver a modern complex which will present a sustainable opportunity for significant income generation. • Develop a business plan with the Bursar, identifying strategies for business development, marketing, staff development, growth of the membership base, quality control and improvements in customer service. • Set objectives, targets and measures on an annual basis in line with the business plan. • Developing a cost-effective commercial lettings programme for the school. • Monitor progress of outcomes against objectives. • Provide close, effective liaison with Christ’s Hospital School (the primary client of the Sports Centre) and the Residential Clients (the primary clients of Christ Hospital Enterprise Limited) • Provide close, effective liaison with members and other key users of the Sports Centre (CH School, other hirers, swimming lessons and class attendees etc) • Maintain close communication with the Bursar and the Board of Trustees of BCS and CHEL ensuring that they are kept informed of key business issues. • Establish and maintain a healthy, safe and pleasant environment for staff and all visitors. • Obtain all licenses or authorities required and ensure that all legal requirements are complied with. • In keeping with best practice, review and benchmark the operations of the Sports Centre against

industry standards and ensure that these are current and competitive. • Ensure that Company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
