Bobst Opens Renovated Facility In Italy

Bobst Italia has reopened its newly renovated and ex- tended production facility in San Giorgio Monferrato, Italy, which now includes a Competence Center for machine demonstrations and R&D trials, and an adjoin- ing laboratory. Carried out in three successive stages, the project has overhauled the company’s buildings and organization.The official opening was attended by the management of Bobst Group and Bobst Italia, local and central authorities and Bobst Italia’s personnel. The site in San Giorgio Monferrato has been operat- ing as a manufacturing hub, developing printing and converting machines for the flexible packaging indus- try since 1960, when it was established by Rotomec. The Finnish Group Valmet Converting bought the site in 1987.Valmet Converting was then acquired by Bobst in 2004 as part of the company’s strategy to extend and diversify its folding carton and corrugated board packaging operations into the flexible packaging mar- ket. Soon afterwards, the site became the Group’s Cen- ter of Excellence. AICC To Host Controlling Color Webinar AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has opened registration for Simply Controlling Color, a new webinar, to be heldWednesday, October 28. This webinar will reportedly provide attendees with solutions by attacking the process scientifically, using technology and software, and removing subjectivity from the equation. Presenter Scott Miller, National Sales/Technical Di- rector, BCM Inks, will discuss some of the challenges printers encounter when reproducing a spot color. He will also help participants learn simple steps to take when establishing and setting color targets, how to avoid confusion in the press room by accurately defin- ing the color target, and why it is important to monitor and control color with technology.
