APPLICATIONS TO SERVE ON THE DRAKENSTEIN HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Drakenstein Municipality is of the intention to establish the Drakenstein Heritage Advisory Committee to assist the Municipality with the management and protection of local cultural heritage resources. The Municipality hereby invites members of the public to apply to serve on the Drakenstein Heritage Advisory Committee. Applications must be submitted in writing and on the prescribed form. The following information or documentation is required:
Written confirmation that the applicant is not disqualified from appointment to serve as a member of the Committee in terms of Section 9.2 of the Terms of Reference for the Drakenstein Heritage Advisory Committee; Written permission allowing the Municipality to verify all the information provided; and A declaration indicating any potential risks associated with their appointment in terms of direct involvement, contracts, or relationships, which might lead to a conflict of interest.
Fully completed application form; A short motivational letter that elaborates on the applicant’s knowledge, experience, and expertise in the fields or professions associated with the built environment, cultural heritage, heritage management, Certified copies of his or her identity document, tertiary qualification, and professional registration; Written confirmation that the applicant will commit and uphold the code of conduct of the Committee if he or she is appointed; and natural environment; A two-page comprehensive Curriculum Vitae;

Please note that failure to comply with the abovementioned requirements will result in disqualification. All appointments to the Committee will be confirmed in writing. Also note, that all members serving on the Drakenstein Heritage Advisory Committee will be required to abide by the terms of reference, code of conduct, conditions of service, and the rules of procedure for the Drakenstein Heritage Advisory Committee; and must have access to email facilities and tools to conduct meetings through virtual conferencing (MS Teams). All applications must be submitted to the City Manager, Paarl Civic Centre, Berg River Boulevard, Paarl, or electronically to customercare@drakenstein.gov.za on or before 20 February 2023 . Late submissions will not be considered. An electronic copy of the Terms of Reference and forms can also be obtained at the offices of Drakenstein Municipality’s Planning and Development Department, Spatial Planning Section, 4th Floor, Paarl Civic Centre, Berg River Boulevard, Paarl, from Mr Z Shiceka, who can be contacted at 021 807 6337 or email: Zwelibanzi.Shiceka@drakenstein.gov.za. The Municipality reserves the right to not make appointments.
