Knowing your situation will help your PT make important decisions regarding your treatment. 4. DO YOURHOMEWORK It is incredibly important that you do your home exercises exactly as instructed. There’s only so much healing that can be done during your appointments. If you want to recover from your injury and make your pain a thing of the past, you need to exercise at home too. If you’re struggling to perform your exercises at home, talk to your PT and ask for advice. 5. DON’T GIVE UP! It’s well known that physical therapy can help patients recover from their injuries faster, but this is not an overnight solution. Youmust work hard and be committed to your treatment. Theremay be struggles and slumps along the way, but you can do it! Don’t sell yourself short. If you’re suffering from an injury, or struggling with chronic pain, your primary focus should be healing. Physical therapy can help, but it’s not a magic cure. Here are five things you need to remember to get the most out of your next physical therapy appointment. 1. DRESS FOR SUCCESS Jeans or long sleeves are not the best fashion choice for your physical therapy appointments. Not only will they be uncomfortable to exercise in, but they can also prevent your physical therapist frombeing able to quickly examine the injured part of your body. Wear comfortable workout clothes like shorts or loose sweatpants that you can pull up over the knee, a tank top or loose-fitting t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes. 2. BEAT THE CLOCK If possible, try to arrive a fewminutes early for your appointment. This will give you a little extra time to ask any questions you’ve thought of since your last appointment. You will get the most time possible with your PT, while ensuring you don’t accidentally go overtime and affect the next patient’s session. 3. Ingredients

3/4 cup popcorn kernels

2 teaspoons granulated garlic

2 tablespoons flaky sea salt

2 teaspoons granulated onion

1 teaspoon black sesame seeds

1/3 cup canola oil

2 teaspoons white sesame seeds

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions

1. In a small skillet over medium heat, toast sesame seeds. Shake skillet often and cook until white seeds are golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl and add garlic, onion, and salt. 2. In a large saucepan, combine popcorn kernels and oil. Cook over medium-high heat, covered, until popcorn kernels start to pop. Once popping, continue cooking and shaking the pan intermittently until popping ceases, about 3–5 minutes.

3. Transfer popcorn to a large mixing bowl. Pour in butter and toss to coat. Finally, add seasoning, toss again, and serve.
