The Season of Giving
Our annual Christmas luncheon is a highlight for me. The whole company—this year we’ll be 110—gathers at tables set amidst the hides in our headquarters to enjoy a meal together. Lunch is followed by a robust raffle that raises money for the local non-profit, the Lynchburg Daily Bread. For the last 37 years, this amazing organization has provided hot meals 365 days a year to anyone in need, all you can eat, no questions asked. Everyone is welcome at their café on Clay Street. More recently, they have been able to mobilize their purpose, delivering hot meals to the surrounding region, serving a record 79,000 meals in 2018. Embedded in our mission at Moore & Giles is the responsibility we have to serve our community. We feel fortunate to be able to contribute each year to such a worthy cause and we are lucky to live in a city that works hard to care for every citizen. Our holiday lunch is high-spirited and the raffle is fun but they are also reminders to all of us that the season of giving is about giving back, being thankful for what we have and doing all that we can to serve others. And as we conclude another year, it is a reminder to us of the privilege we have to serve you. We are grateful for your business, we appreciate the opportunity to play a part in your gift-giving, and we thank you for your continued support.
