Coffee lovers are in for a treat with Infuse Coffee Roasters in South Burnie joining the membership. Proud new owners Sharree and Emma have embraced the boutique roastery’s reputation for roasting exceptional single-origin coffees and award-winning house blends. Their passion for great coffee is already making a strong impression throughout the region. Craft beer enthusiasts will be familiar with Buttons Brewing in Ulverstone, a family-owned brewery that has grown from Josh Roberts’ first home-brewed batch of Hazard Pale Ale into one of the North West’s favourite independent breweries. Inspired by the local landscape and named after nearby Buttons Creek, the brewery continues to produce quality small-batch beers that proudly showcase the region.

crowd for an evening of fierce competition and country hospitality. Some of Tasmania’s finest woodchoppers travelled to the region to compete alongside each other, some even competing in Australian competitions, creating an exciting showcase of strength, skill and sportsmanship.

Adding to the atmosphere was legendary axeman Dave Foster, whose entertaining commentary kept the crowd laughing and engaged throughout the evening. Events like these continue to demonstrate how regional communities come together to celebrate tradition while supporting local businesses and tourism. The month also included a visit to the Hellyer College Career Expo, where we had the opportunity to connect with students exploring future careers, as well as education providers and industry representatives. It is always encouraging to see so much enthusiasm from young people considering careers in hospitality, tourism and food industries. From welcoming outstanding new members to celebrating regional events and inspiring future hospitality professionals, it’s been another rewarding month of building connections across Tasmania’s North West. Every visit, every conversation and every new partnership continues to strengthen our industry and showcase the passion, resilience and community spirit that make this region such a special place.

Adding another flavour to the NW is Wattle Hill Olive Grove in Latrobe. As one of Tasmania’s oldest olive groves, this family-owned business has spent decades cultivating more than 2000 olive trees across 21 picturesque acres. Their commitment to producing premium olives and olive products is a wonderful example of the passion and dedication found throughout our local food industry.
