Tasmanian Hospitality Review - August/September 2026

a laugh, celebrate successes, and sometimes have the more difficult conversations about the challenges businesses are facing. Whether it’s workforce shortages, customer expectations, training opportunities or preparing for future growth, these honest conversations help Hospitality Tasmania understand where support is needed most. Together, we’re identifying practical ways to upskill staff, strengthen customer experiences and help businesses thrive. Next on the calendar is another trip to the West Coast, where Gena is looking forward to delivering the West Coast GCE Community Session at the Zeehan Study Hub. Bringing local operators together to share ideas, learn from one another and explore ways to strengthen the visitor experience is always one of the highlights of the program. With the highly anticipated new Spirit of Tasmania vessels set to arrive in late October, excitement is building across the state. More visitors mean more opportunities for North West Coast businesses and Tasmania, but it also raises an important question - is your business ready? Now is the perfect time to review your customer experience, invest in your team and make sure your business is prepared to welcome even more guests through the door.

If you’d like to explore ways to enhance your customer experience, upskill your staff or simply have a chat about your business, I’d love to catch up. Sometimes the best ideas begin with nothing more than a conversation and Gena is always happy to make time to come and visit you in person.
