Bring it on!” The season opener, Memories of the Sum- mer of Love , playing from April 22 to May 4, is a 40-song trip back to the 60’s, featuring a live band and four fabulous singers. Audi- ences will hear the music of such legend- ary artists as The Beach Boys, Gerry & the Pacemakers, The Monkees, Bob Dylan, The Mamas & Papas, Simon and Garfunkel and many more. The concert reflects the age of the folk movement, civil rights, peace, love and good vibrations. The show premiered at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in 2004. It then toured to Germany in 2005 and has played across Ontario at numerous theatres includ- ing Victoria Playhouse, Red Barn Theatre, Bluewater Festival, London Musical Theatre and Orillia Opera House. Le vernissage de Renée Lalande a été présenté le 4 avril dernier au Centre culturel de Cornwall. «Le thème de mon vernissage est le décès de ma fille Jovie, a expliqué Mme Lalande. Créer les œuvres m’a vraiment aidé lors de mon deuil.» En effet, ses œuvres sont toutes reliées à sa fille. Plusieurs différents matériaux ainsi que de la peinture ont été utilisés par l’artiste. «Bien qu’elles font partie de mon vernissage, aucune de mes peintures n’est à vendre», a-t-elle expliqué. Le samedi 5 avril dernier, la salle Aultsville vibrait joyeusement au rythme des mé- lodies entonnées par le ténor canadien de réputation internationale, Ken Lavigne. Parmi les nombreux spectateurs présents à ce concert en série, on comptait une belle jeunesse venue s’abreuver aux joyeux échos printaniers. De gauche à droite, on reconnaît Agathe Fontaine et Olivia Kennedy de l’École catholique Marie Tanguay, Hanna Lord de l’École publique Rose des Vents et Angélique Fontaine de l’École secondaire catholique La Citadelle. À l’arrière plan, on retrouve l’artiste invité, Ken Lavigne.
