ECAUCUS, NJ — On Tues., May 17th, Hud- son County Executive Tom DeGise was joined by Mayors, Assembly Members, other elected officials, and project participants at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hudson County Schools of Technology’s new High Tech High School to be built in Laurel Hill Park in Secau- cus. The design/build team of Terminal Construction Corporation and DMR Ar- chitects who were chosen by the Hudson County Improve- ment Authority to design the new 340,000 s/f, three-story facility for grades nine-12 were also on-hand for the celebration. n DeSimone Consulting Engineers receives NJCA Merit Award JERSEY CITY, NJ – DeSimone Consulting Engineers announced that Harborside Plaza VII at 200 Greene St. in Jersey City was selected by The New Jersey Concrete Awards Committee to receive the organization’s top prize, the 2016 Grand Award. The 700-foot, 70-story residential tower is part of Ironstate’s and Mack-Cali’s Harborside development and is the first of three buildings that will significantly change Jersey City’s skyline in the coming years. The 800,000 s/f tower includes 539 apart- ments, a landscaped outdoor amenity deck and pool, a parking garage, and com- mercial and retail space. The first tenants are expected to move in later this year. “DeSimone is honored to receive the NJCA’s Grand Award for our work on Har- borside Plaza VII,” said Ben- jamin Downing, principal and project director of Har- borside Plaza VII. “We are excited about the continued growth and development in Jersey City and are proud to contribute the city’s growth and reputation as great place to live, work, and play.” The New Jersey Concrete Awards are held to recog- nize outstanding concrete construction projects in the State of New Jersey. More than 400 members of the concrete industry are ex- pected to attend this year’s ceremony. n
