REALITY Series THE MOST HATED MAN ON THE INTERNET NETFLIX
This Netflix documentary tells the story of the controversial website Is anyone up? And its founder Hunter Moore . This site was massive (taken down in 2012) and focused on revenge porn posting nudes, often without the consent of its victims. The site also published links to the victim's Facebook page and sometimes, their address. The show also demonstrates the impact that the website had on the victims and the blatant misogyny demonstrated by the founder Hunter More. It also demonstrated why you should never mess with a ‘Mama Bear’. When Charlotte Laws daughters email address was hacked and naked photographs of her were posted on the site. Charlotte worked tirelessly to not only have her daughter’s images removed but to also have the site taken down and for justice for the victims. This is an upsetting watch, with a lot of adult content, but it is also very satisfying to watch the downfall of this man. It is also an important watch, in so far as we should question how this man was able to garner the adoration of his ‘fans’. Their hero worship and willingness to do anything to impress him were quite frankly terrifying. Watch on NETFLIX here
