Participants shall:
Describe the different types of accessories and their main characteristics when questioned by the instructor
Engage in discussion the implications of using equipment that is not marked
DYNAMIC OR STATIC
Learning objective:
The participant can describe whether a lift is dynamic or static (Knowledge, basic level)
The participant can describe potential hazards in dynamic and static lifts (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the characteristics of a dynamic lift and static lift in on/offshore environments
Describe additional precautions that the slinger signaller must take during dynamic lifting operations
Conduct Q&A involving all participants
Participants shall:
Engage in Q&A on different dynamic lifting operations and potential hazards for the slinger signaller and share experiences
LIFT PLANS
Learning objective:
The participant can discuss the lift plan with colleges and other personnel at hand including pros and cons, risks, possible (standardised) actions. (Knowledge, intermediate level) The participant can take responsibility to apply the lift plan information to the lifting operation (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Lead a discussion on the reasons for having a detailed lift plan
Explain the principles and contents of a lift plan
Explain which information must be consulted by the slinger signaller before commencing work e.g. and question the understandings of the participants
a. weight of load
b. accessories required
c. equipment positioning
