Suggestion for activity: In small groups, the participants seek out two or three sections in a lift plan and discuss their meanings and how to apply the info in the slinger signaller operation. Each group present their conclusions in class.
Participants shall:
Engage in discussion on what information is important when preparing/carrying out slinger signaller tasks, and the potential hazards and risks of not seeking that information
Demonstrate the ability to locate relevant information from a generic lift plan
RISK ASSESSMENT
Learning objective:
The participant can describe the purpose and relevance of a risk assessment (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the relation between the risk assessment and mitigating precautions
Present and describe the basic outline of a risk assessment
Describe where the slinger signaller can typically find a risk assessment
Lead a discussion on what information identified in the risk assessment must be consulted before commencing slinger signaller tasks, e.g. control measure per risk as per the toolbox-talk or similar
Participants shall:
Engage in the group discussions on the purpose of a risk assessment
Discuss the consequences of not being aware of identified risks before commencing slinger signaller tasks
