LOAD ORIENTATION DEVICES
Learning objective:
The participant can decide when to apply load orientation devices (Knowledge, intermediate level)
The participant can take responsibility for handling common load orientation devices (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the hazards and risks when working with load orientation devices including the following:
a) taglines with and without winches, covering positioning and handling
b) taglines with the potential impact of thickness of taglines
c) types of connecting taglines to load
Provide feedback in relation to the practice of safe use of load orientation devices
The participants shall:
Practice the ability to position load orientation devices correctly and safely
Discuss how to collaborate efficiently when using load orientation devices
Receive feedback constructively
LIFTING ANGLES
Learning objective:
The participant can recognise the risk of exceeding lifting angles (Knowledge, basic level)
The participant can explain the relations between lifting angles and sling tension (Knowledge. Intermediate level)
The participant can on their own measure the lifting angles (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the importance of ensuring that the correct lifting angles are being used throughout the slinger signaller tasks
Lead a discussion on hazards and risk in relation to lifting angles
Demonstrate correct use of lifting angles by lifting a simple load at various degrees
Provide feedback to participants on their ability to measure angles during the practice activities
The participants shall:
