2021-04-01_TS_SLS_V2
Engage in discussion on lift angles and share experiences
Practice to measure lift angels by different examples (practiced during all exercises)
Receive feedback constructively
CENTRE OF GRAVITY (COG)
Learning objective:
The participants can responsibly and on their own initiative adjust loads in relation to CoG (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the principles of centre of gravity
Describe the importance of verifying the centre of gravity before commencing the lift
Demonstrate how to identify the centre of gravity
Ask participants for their reflections on the principles of centre of gravity in relation to suspended loads
The participants shall:
Explain and practice the principles of centre of gravity in relation to suspended loads
Explain and practice how the centre of gravity affects the slinging of a load
Discuss or test factors that may challenge centre of gravity e.g. unsecured cargo (liquid) and how to mitigate imbalance
SUSPENDED LOADS AND DROPPED OBJECTS
Learning objective:
The participants can explain the hazards and risks from suspended loads and dropped objects and how to mitigate these (Knowledge, intermediate level) The participants can take responsibility for recognising and take mitigating actions on hazards and risks from suspended loads and dropped objects (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the risks posed by suspended loads and dropped objects
Explain that no person shall be under a suspended load at any time
Explain the hazard and drop zones associated with lifting operations
Explain, to the extent needed, where the hazard and drop zones for lifting operations in the work area are
