Stockbridge-Jonesboro (GA) Alumni Chapter and he has held membership in the Tallahassee (FL) and Miami (FL) Alumni Chapters respectively. Prior to becoming Grand Polemarch, Battles was the fraternity’s Senior Grand Vice Polemarch. Battles intro- duced Kappa’s Six Point Plan when the 33 rd Administration was elected. The Six Point Plan focuses on: Community Service, Infrastructure, Undergradu- ate Development, Reclamation, New Member Recruitment and Training, and Executive Leadership Training and Succession Planning. The Frater- nity’s 33 rd Administration continues to make progress with implementing the Six Point Plan. Some of the Admin- istration’s accomplishments include, institution of the Senior Kappa Endow- ment Fund which will provide resourc- es for philanthropy and service efforts, partnership with the National Orga- nization of Black Law Enforcement Executive (NOBLE) and hosted “Learn 2 Live” workshops, consolidation and streamlining the Fraternity’s electronic platforms using better technology and

PROFESSIONAL YEARS: Grand Polemarch Battles is a regional direc- tor for the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Relations Service, where he oversees eight southeastern states. The Community Relations Service is respon- sible for mediating and conciliating racial and ethnic disputes and providing assistance to communities experiencing hate crime tension. Battles was recog- nized regionally and nationally for his work, including receiving the Distin- guished Service Award from the U.S. Attorney General.
