Alumni Chapter. He was also a mem- ber of the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Society and Gem City Medical, Dental and Pharmacology Society. He was a Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, ASALAH Manasota; a life member of the Golden Heritage with the NAACP, and the Urban League. He was a member of the West Virginia State College Alumni Association; and the National Podiatry Association. Dr. Myers was a long- standing member of the Greater Allen AME Church in Dayton, OH where he served as a Steward. Dr. William Myers is survived by his daughter, Hazel Collier; grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Deidra Baker, and Nyree (Ernest) Wesley; three great- grand- children, Stephen Johnson, Jayla Wesley and Ernest Wesley, Jr.; two great-great-grand-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

MA bureau offices prior to returning to his hometown of New Orleans to work in that city’s bureau office. He was pro- moted to Supervisory Special Agent and retired in 2004, after twenty-five years of service. After retiring from the F.B.I., Nash worked as a drug program agent for the National Football League (NFL), conducting drug testing in their South- ern region, which included Louisiana, Mississippi, Southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. After four years with the NFL, he retired permanently and returned to the Bay St. Louis-Waveland (MS) area. A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , Nash also served as Vice President of the St. Rose de Lima Parish Council, President of the St. Vincent de Paul Conference and as a member of the board of directors for the Hancock County Human Resources Agency and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Hancock County. He was a member of Society of Former Special Agents of the F.B.I., Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents Association, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Southern Poverty Leader- ship Conference and the American Legion. Brother Andrew H. Nash, Sr. is pre- ceded in death by his parents Herbert A. and Louise (nee Curry) Nash. He is survived by his wife, Melanie (nee Har- rison) Nash; daughters, Monique and Maisha Nash; son, Andrew "Buster" H. Nash, Jr.; granddaughter, Taiylor Nash; great-granddaughters, Jordynn and Kamrynn Hamm; stepdaughter, Angele Harrison; stepson, Kenneth "Kenny" Harrison; and a host of relatives, friends and colleagues.

Ivan Keith Owens 1956–2017 Community Leader, Real Estate Professional

Ivan Keith Owens (Xi 1975) was born on March 9, 1956 in Durham, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Lewis Nathaniel Ow- ens and Lottye

Mitchell Owens. On Tuesday, No- vember 7 th , Brother Owens peacefully departed this life bound for his heavenly home. He was educated in Durham Public Schools and graduated from Durham High School in 1973. Ivan was a stellar student and his scholastic achievements granted him a partial scholarship to Howard University. He received his BA from Howard University where he majored in Politi- cal Science and Government in 1977. He received his JD from North Carolina Central University, School of Law where he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Inc. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1983. Brother Owens was also a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church since the age of 5. He was also the Founder and longtime President of Mt. Gilead Inc., a nonprofit organization. He was pas- sionate about servicing the community and led the church’s efforts to purchase property in the community and worked toward positive development of the sur- rounding area. Brother Owens was a dedicated and passionate member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. His dedication was evidenced by his lifetime membership and commitment to service. He is Past Polemarch of the Xi Chapter. Ivan loved the Durham Alumni Chapter and sought to keep in touch with his line brothers from Xi Chapter over the years. He was known as “The Rock” while at Howard

at his home in Waveland, MS. He was born on June 21, 1949 in New Orleans, LA and raised in Bay St. Louis, MS. He graduated from historic Dillard Univer- sity where he earned a B.A. degree in business administration. Post-gradua- tion, Nash enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the Fourth Division at Fort Carson, CO. After his time serving in the military, he worked for Tenneco Oil in New Orleans prior to his acceptance into the Federal Bureau of Investigations (F.B.I.) Academy at Quantico, VA. As a Special Agent, he served in the Jack- sonville, FL, New York, NY and Boston,
