COURTNEY LINDEMANN ’23

MAJOR Business Administration HOMETOWN Kronenwetter, Wis. ORGANIZATION Northwestern Mutual Weston, Wis. TITLE Client Service Manager

What I did: I started my position off as a receptionist and an assistant for an advisor in Weston office. After some transiting and job promotions in the office, I was offered a full- time position as a client service manager. This position is like an associate finical advisor with added duties of marketing and client corresponding. I did day-to-day communications for my advisor. I also learned our CRM database, how to prep and complete life insurance applications. In July I started training in investments and it has been going very well. What I liked: I really enjoyed learning the aspects of being a finical advisor and what goes with the job. Before starting I had a general idea, but now I understand it is a lot more than just insurance. My biggest takeaway is that you must create personal relationships with your clients to have your firm grow. Without having those relationships, as an advisor you will struggle. The second advisor I worked with taught me the importance of Northwestern Mutual. I now feel like my position is significant in the steps of creating new relationships and helping my advisor grow his business. Future Dream Job: My dream job would be staying with Northwestern Mutual and advancing. I got to attend our annual meeting in July in Milwaukee. Being surrounded by 15,000 other employees allowed me to see the company’s mission and overall culture. I would like to grow into an office manager. I can also see myself as a trainer for all new advisors and interns. I enjoy seeing people accomplish their goals start to finish while also being able to help. I am excited to see where this company takes me in the next year and half while completing my degree at UW-Stevens Point.
