PHOTO INTERVIEW (Continued) teachers. Out of this class have gone literally hundreds of women who have been instructed who are now conducting classes of their own. QUESTION: What about your fam ily, your children? ANSWER: All of our children are married. We have three daughters and we had one son. He was killed while he was in the service, in the infantry, at the age of twenty-two. He in turn left a widow who bore him a son four months after he was killed. That has been a great source of heartache to my wife and me but we have learned that the Lord is able to comfort. We have learned at the same time that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord. We have eight grandchildren. QUESTION: Can you remember all of their names? ANSWER: Now you put me on the spot. I wouldn’t attempt to try nam ing them without having it jotted down in front of me. QUESTION: This being Thanks giving season, you have given us much for which to be thankful but for what are you particularly grate ful to the Lord this Thanksgiving season? ANSWER: I am thankful first of all for the gift of eternal life; for a Christian wife and for a Christian family. One of our daughters and her husband is the pastor of a church which they founded out in San Fer nando Valley. I am grateful for the retention of my faculty. Several years ago I was almost completely blind with cataracts. I had my eyes operated on for cataracts and now have no lenses in my eye balls. Con sequently I must substitute these rather heavy glasses, but with them I have twenty-twenty vision in both eyes. QUESTION: I want to ask you one thing. In all these years, twenty-four years with the “Haven of Rest,” what has been the most unusual thing? ANSWER: I can truthfully say to you, and the books and the boys will bear me out on this, that never at any one time in twenty-four years have we had enough cash on hand to pay one month’s operation. The Lord has always sent it in just in the nick of time. Our very wonderful agent Mr. Van Newkirk has been very patient with us. That to me is really the un usual thing. We thank God for the sacred privilege He has given us of broadcasting the gospel. Be looking for other similar photo interviews in forthcoming publica tions of The King’s Business.

Lists the BEST Teaching Aids

This helpful booklet lists over 200 of

the best teaching aids now available which are recommended by GOSPEL LIGHT for use with its Sunday School Bible lessons.

Y ou know the importance of teaching aids and how they bring greater teach ing impact and better learning. You know that you can influence your students for Christ in a marvelous way by using proper aids. But you probably wonder which of the many teaching aids available are suit able for use with your Sunday School lessons, and you wonder just how to invest your money in good aids. For users of G ospel L ight closely- graded Sunday School Bible les sons, all this guesswork is gone. The new free booklet, " Teaching Aids A’Plenty,” helps G ospel L ight users in two ways: First, it lists the best teaching aids (flannelgraphs, filmstrips, kits, maps, charts, etc.) for each lesson in each

quarter in each grade through grade 8. (This list is also in each teacher’s manual!)^ Second, it carries a cross-index show ing every lesson, quarter, and grade in which each aid can be used. This helps you plan the wise and economical use of each teaching aid you purchase. Some of the aids are prepared by G ospel L ight and some by other pub lishers, but all have been checked and correlated for maximum teaching aid value with specific G ospel L ight Bible lessons. G ospel L ight and its authorized dealers will be happy to furnish you with your free copy of ‘‘Teaching Aids A’Plenty.” It’s another example of how G ospel L ight is leading the way to better Bible study in Sunday School.
