4. THE GATBSY BENCHMARKS 4.1
SCL Group is committed to implementing the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance and aim where
appropriate to deliver them across
all divisions.
4.2
SCL Group is committed to delivering high
-quality Careers Education,
Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) that meets the needs of all learners across its divisions. In line with statutory requirements, we will implement the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of G ood Career Guidance for learners aged 16 –18 and those up to the age of 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
4.3
We also recognise the value of extending these principles of best practice to those on apprenticeship programmes and adult skills provision, where appropriate and meaningful. This ensures that all learners, regardless of age or pathway, have opportunities to develop their career management skills, make informed choices, and progress successfully into furt

learning or employment.
4.4
While the structure and emphasis may vary, all programmes
(where
appropriate) will be underpinned by the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring a coherent and consistent approach across the Group. Please see Appendix 1 for a general overview of how the Gatsby Benchmarks will be applied and what we aim to achieve.
5. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 5.1
The successful delivery of CEIAG relies on clear leadership, effective management, and shared responsibility across the organisation. While strategic oversight sits with senior leaders, all staff contribute to embedding careers within the learner experience . This section sets out the specific responsibilities of key roles to ensure that statutory duties are met, the Gatsby Benchmarks are delivered, and careers provision is integrated into the wider Personal Development curriculum.

leadership and accountability for CEIAG, ensuring careers are embedded within organisational strategy, resources are allocated, and progress is monitored. • Head of Careers and UCAS - Leads the design and delivery of the SCL College careers programme, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and the Gatsby Benchmarks, while supporting staff across all divisions. Manages the UCAS process, oversees the careers team, and provides training and guidance to staff on implementing the Gatsby Benchmarks.
