AND GALLERIES Antiques, Boutiques

I t’s always a great idea to explore a region’s unique shops and boutiques. Locally owned establishments bring a different shopping experience. You’ll find these types of shopping adventures scattered throughout the QC. Small shops and larger antique malls are sure to reveal hidden treasures. Antique Archaeology, made famous by the History Channel’s American Pickers, is a must-visit in LeClaire, Iowa. The Country Fair Mall in Coal Valley, Illinois has over 19,000 square feet of antiques, collectibles, and flea market items, with another shop containing over 1,200 square feet of treasures. Other favorites include Fred & Ethel's ‘50s Antiques, Jackson’s Antiques, Dar-Jac Antiques and Jewelry, and Skeleton Key Art and Antiques in Rock Island, IL. Stop by Antique Treasure Trove and The Tattered Shoe Antique Store in Moline, IL. In Davenport, Trash Can Annie for vintage clothing, Doodads!, and Neat Stuff. Call ahead for hours at all antique shops. You’ll find unique shopping at quaint shops nestled in our downtowns, and places like the Village of East Davenport and the historic main street of LeClaire, Iowa, which won the 2023 Iowa Tourism Award for Best Retail Experience in a rural town. For another rural community experience, visit Aledo, IL., the County Seat of historical Mercer County. Take a stroll down Main Street and discover the quaint shops and restaurants. In downtown Rock Island, visit Quad City Arts Gallery for

one-of-kind jewelry, pottery, paintings, and more. Also visit the Shoppes on 2nd where little surprises are to be found. Downtown Davenport must visits include Abernathy’s vintage clothing, What a Gem, Theo & Co. men’s clothing, Major Art & Hobby, Freight House Farmer’s Market, Source Book Store, Hot Glass, and Ragged Records. The Bett Plex neighborhood in Bettendorf, which has numerous retail options, is an attractive location for travelers and locals alike. Sports teams descend on the TBK Bank Sports Complex from all over for games and tournaments year-round. The neighborhood has a huge variety of eateries including Twin Span Brewing and a “Mac & Cheesery” called Cheesy Cow. When shopping the neighborhood, you’ll find great athleisure wear at Red’s Threads. Take some time for yourself at Forest Nails & Spa or the Meraki Beauty Room and book a fitness class at Reform by Tapas Yoga. The Figge Art Museum offers shopping that complements their current exhibits and also features originally designed jewelry, glass, and other creative items. The German American Heritage Center’s gift shop features German made glass ornaments, steins, and beautiful handmade nutcrackers. If you still need a retail fix, SouthPark Mall in Moline, NorthPark in Davenport, along with the 53rd Street Shopping Corridor in Davenport and Bettendorf will provide many great options.
