WOLBI Alumni and WOL Taiwan Team at Dedication Event
The year of 2023 was a time of celebration for Christ-followers in the Philippines. Not only did Word of Life celebrate its fiftieth year of ministry in the Philippines, but on June 25 of 2023 – over 66 years after Dick Roe brought the gospel to the jungle village – the Isnag people gathered in Dibagat to dedicate the first full Bible in their heart language! Nard had the joy of being present to hand out Bibles during the celebration. In tears, he describes the wonder of seeing the great work God had done in the lives of His people – a work that began with seeds sown in the hearts of those willing to bring the gospel across the globe. “What if they had said, ‘No?’” Nard reflected. “That would be the end of the story. But God said, ‘This is what I want to be done.’ And I marvel in awe and say, ‘God, this is it!’” God can use a seed sown in the heart of a teenage camper to change the world. We serve Him expectantly, knowing the same God who worked in Dick Roe’s heart in 1949 is alive and working today.
