Stories of Ministry Around the World
Brazil Word of Life first came to Brazil in 1957 and has grown tremendously over the decades as a nationwide ministry with 11 locations! Word of Life Sao Paulo recently welcomed 150 guests to their “seminary for a weekend” event. This weekend yielded a record number of potential candidates for the program, and staff are praying that the Lord would prepare each of them to reach others with biblical truth – both in Brazil and around the world.
Hungary The Hungary Word of Life Bible Institute is a unique and special place, which is due in part to its incredibly culturally diverse campus. This year, the 56 students on campus are from 17 countries around the world! Not only do students build lifelong friendships with classmates from across the globe, but they also learn how to effectively reach and serve people from linguistic and social backgrounds that are different from their own.
South Korea Considering the difficult religious climate of South Korea, the Word of Life team has found it helpful to expose young people to biblical truth over multiple years. It often starts with an introduction at their school or church, then youth camp, then SYME (an English immersion program), and finally, the opportunity to attend Word of Life Bible Institute. Not only is this a strategic method of multiplication, but it also allows students who don’t know the Lord to experience long-term, gospel-driven relationships designed to point them to Christ.
