The general education requirements, the Bible requirements and major field requirements in their total scope meet the require­ ments for admission into seminary. Offered with ma jors in American studies, art, communication, English, history, humanities, liberal studies, music, social science and sociology. The Bachelor of Music degree. Offered withemphasis in composition, music education, and pe~ormance. The Bachelor of Science degree. Offered with majors in biological science, business administration, chemistry, computer science, mathematical science, nurs­ ing, physical science, public administration, physical education and recreation and camp administration. The Master of Arts degree. Offered in Christian school administrati on and education. The Master of Music degree. Offered in church music. School of lntercultual Studies. The Bachelor of Arts degree in intercultural studies. The Master of Arts degree in intercultural studies and world missions and the Doctor of Missiology. Talbot School of Theology. The Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical studies and Christ ian education. The Master of Arts degree in bibl ical studies, ministry, Christian education, theological studiesand marriage and family ministries. Talbot also offers the Master of Divinity degree, the Master of Theology degree, the Doctor of Ministry degree and the Doctor of Education degree. Rosemead School of Psychology. UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS Double Degree Students seeking asecond baccalaureate degree must complete aminimum of 30 distinct un its inasecond area of major studies. Aminimum of 160 total units ore required for graduation wi th a double degree. All prerequisites, support ing courses and departmental requirements for each major must be completed. The student must confer with the deportments in which he will major and with the director of records. Double Major Astudent may be graduated with two majors. The following information is for those pursuing two majors: All prerequisites, supporting courses and departmental requirements for each major must be campleted. The secondmaj or must have minimumof 18upper divisionunitsunique to that major (i.e., minimum of 48 major units and 148 total units required - see indivi dual major requirements ). The student must confer with the deportments in which he will major and with the director of records. Minors Although Biola University does not requ ire the student to have a minor for graduation, there ore anumber of instances in which astudent may wish to take a minor, especially in planning for a career in teaching. By checking the various deportments in the catalog, astudent may determine if aminor is offered. Aminor usually requires aminimum of 18 units, 12 of which should be upper division. Nine ·units must be taken in res idence, six of which must be upper division. All units must be unique tothe minor and may not be counted toward the major requirements.

The graduate course numbering system is designed to indicate the relative academic level of courses in this manner: l 00-499 Undergraduate, baccalaureate level courses 500-799 Graduate level, normally indicating first through third year beyond baccalaureate. 800-999 Postgraduate level, indicating fourth year beyond baccalaureate. In general, odd-numbered courses ore given in the foll and even-numbered courses ore offered in the spring. Courses ending in zerousually ore offered each semester. The units of credit ore indicated by the number in parentheses after each course title. The university reserves the right to withdraw any courses for which there is insufficient registration. SPECIAL NOTE Biola University reserves the right to change any and all student charges, modify its services, or change its curriculum or programs of study should economic conditions, curricular revisions, or national emergency make it necessary ordesirable to do so. TRANSCRIPT REQUEST One transcript of astudent's record is furnished free. Acharge of $2 ismade for each additional official transcript. The student or alumnus may request atranscript in person or by mail. Telephone requests will not be accepted. To makearequest in person, a transcript request form must be completed and the $2 fee paid in the admissions and records office. Mail request should include the student's name, date of birth, social security number, last semester of attendance at Biola, name and address of where the transcript isto be sent and cash or $2 check made payable to Biola University, for each transcript. Transcripts will be released only after all fi nancial obligations to the university ore paid. A request for o transcript must bear the signature of the individual whose permanent record is involved. If thename is typed or printed, the request wil l not be honored. This policy is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Buckley Amendment). Atranscript cannot be released if money is owed to the university on astudent's account or if apayment is outstanding on any loans obtained through the university. An additional $1will beadded to the transcript fee for rush (over the counter) requests. NAME CHANGES All namechanges by marriage, divorce or court order must be accompanied by a All groupsor individuals who represent the university must manifest satisfactory standing as to application, cooperation, spiritual life and scholastic attainment (the overall grade point average must be 2.00), and must be approved by the faculty. PRE-PROFESSIONAL COURSES Many leading educators in the professional fields recognize that o liberal arts curriculum provides the most suitable undergraduate preparation. The satisfactory completion of the courses required of all students during their first two years in attendance at Biolo University provides much of the necessary background. Biola Univers ity offers courses which serve os foundational material for several of the professions. There ore certain basic courses in natural science, language and social science which ore required by most professional schools. To be sure that the proper courses ore selected, the student should seek information from the professional school of his choice. Pre-Medical: In addition to the general courses astudent interested in entering the medical field should take courses in biology, chemistry, physics and mathemat­ ics.
