Kelsey admits that building something with no real market comparables has made financing and appraisals an uphill climb. Lenders and real estate agents often don’t know how to price community. But she is determined to prove that it has tangible value. “We want the resale values of these homes to outperform the surrounding market,” she says. “Not out of greed, but because it would show other developers this is viable — that people want this lifestyle.”
