Job Purpose To use operational sustainability expertise to enable Directorates and project working groups to deliver the University’s objective of operating efficiently and minimising environmental impact. To promote sustainable practice and to provide high quality training in sustainability. To demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development and propose opportunities to increase the effectiveness of sustainability integration in all aspects of the University’s operations. To run a rigorous institutional Environmental Management System (EMS) including Legislation Register, Risk Register, Aspects and Impacts Register, training and communications activities, reporting annually and monitoring quarterly with accurate data in relation to the aagreed KPls. Roles & Responsibilities These are the key responsibilities of the job: on occasion you may be required to undertake other duties commensurate with your grade. Due to the level of the role, the incumbent will need to work flexibly in order to accommodate the scope of the role and to prioritise and achieve initiatives, tasks and timelines. Please note: Project delivery is at the core of everything that Estates does as a directorate. All staff are required to assist with project delivery in any way that the Director of Estates may reasonably request. Roles & Responsibilities • Responsible for the compilation and regular review of the environmental Legislation Register and Risk Register including maintaining records of dissemination and ensuring relevant staff (and contractors) are informed, collating evidence of legal compliance across the institution. • Responsible for the compilation and regular review of the institutional Aspects and Impacts Register including identifying impacts and actions for reduction, holding records of dissemination and ensuring relevant staff (and contractors) are informed, collating evidence of reduction actions across the institution.
