East Central Province’s Inaugural Founders’ Day Celebration: The East Central Province of Kappa Alpha Psi celebrated its inaugural Province Wide Founders’ Day Banquet at the National Underground Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio in January 2018. This historical event featured a Keynote Speech from Brother Chris Broussard, and a long list of special guests including Senior Grand Vice Polemarch Reuben A. Shelton, III, Esq., Grand Keeper of Records and Exchequer Chester Leaks, National Reclamation Chair Paul Robinson, and a host of officers from multiple Provinces! In total, there were close to 300 Brothers in attendance, and every Brother enjoyed them- selves! This fantastic weekend also included a Day Party before the banquet, a celebration the night before, and a tour of the facility after the banquet concluded! The whole experience was historic, and there are plans to have another Province Founders’ Day in 2020, and to keep this tradition going every other year. The planning of this event was almost 2 years in the making, and the reality of this event far eclipsed any Brother’s wildest dreams! Province Polemarch Darren Jordan, Senior Province Vice Polemarch Marcus Bailey along with Province Board Member and Planning Chairman James Harris did an excellent job in coordinating the efforts for this event with representatives from the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter. We hope that all Brothers will consider joining us for Province Founders’ Day 2020 as planning has already begun!
