Where possible, all of the produce used at Abbey House Hotel & Gardens is sourced within Cumbria & Lancashire, as locally to our front door as possible.
Everything is made on the premises, freshly cooked to order. Where it’s not possible to make from scratch, we are purchasing from the best local suppliers.
Many of our dry goods are procured fromMcClure’s, based inWindermere, McClure’s are a family owned, 3rd generation business founded in 1945. Offering a bespoke service, McClure’s help us to deliver the highest standards and quality.
Associated with McClure’s are Parsons of Kendal, quality fruit & vegetable suppliers to the surrounding areas.
Our eggs are sourced locally fromHinkley’s farm and make the best hollandaise you’ll ever have!
We use local meat suppliers such as Udales, founded in 1905, family run based in Morecambe, the home of our Himalayan salt aged beef steaks! Also, The Ulverston Meat Company, supplying the hotel with it’s event catering produce. All of our meat suppliers are ‘Red Tractor’ assured, offering safe, traceable, British products.
Our fish is sustainably sourced and line caught & have full traceability, finished with the finest quality herbs, often from our own gardens.
