L’entreprise, qui emploie 407 travail- leurs prévoit la création de 50 emplois permanents et de 200 emplois à court terme dans le secteur de la construction. Il y a un an, plusieurs avaient des inquiétudes au sujet de l’avenir de l’in- dustrie. La compagnie avait averti les employés qu’elle fermerait la fonderie à cause des dépenses élevées. Par ailleurs, l’avenir d’Ivaco est devenu plus optimiste alors qu’un gel des salaires de cinq ans a été accepté par les 360 travailleurs syn- diqués.
